Wu Mu Huo Tong Ming; Zi Fan Shui Tao Hua
Tanlang in Zi/Wu in the Life Palace: opposite is Ziwei, Wealth is Pojun, Career is Qisha. Tanlang is a desire star, wanting both things and feeling. Opposite is the emperor star Ziwei, so desire is pushed to the extreme. Desire is momentum; too much and too little are both illness, and too high easily goes to extremes. Old books say if Tanlang offends the imperial seat and no one reels it in, it becomes a person of no use. The person is resourceful, versatile, smooth and timely; a good structure actively unfolds talent, a poor one turns calculating and speculative, lost in wine, sex, and money. Zi and Wu are both prosperous; Ziwei reduces drifting, weights face and leadership, yet social force is a little weaker. Wu wood generating fire is called Mu Huo Tong Ming (wood and fire connecting brightness): heroic talent, able to hold authority, heavy material desire, little peach blossom. Zi water generating wood floats the wood, called Fan Shui Tao Hua (peach blossom floating on water): solemn on the surface, privately easily lost in wine and sex. Travel Ziwei with the six auspicious stars coming to court: going out has presence, strong desire can charge; Ziwei as lonely monarch: weak desire, timid.

Qingyang sits with Wu Tanlang. Old books say Tanlang and Qingyang dwelling in Wu can garrison the frontier, also called Ma Tou Dai Jian (arrow at the horse’s head): heroic talent is enough, suited to military, police, and martial posts—drive can be used.
Teacher Ming's reading: Tanlang in Zi/Wu in the Life Palace
Students, do not first take desire as certain to be a bad thing. I think Tanlang in Zi/Wu, opposite Ziwei, has desire pushed to the extreme. The person is resourceful and versatile; a good structure actively unfolds talent, a poor one turns calculating and speculative. Desire is momentum; too much and too little are both illness—only harmonize, do not add fuel. Old books say if no one reels it in, it becomes a person of no use.
Ding, Ji, Bing, and Wu years have Lu and Quan, money profit is thicker. If your year is not listed, do not panic—first learn this star group's temperament.
Difference between Tanlang in Zi and in Wu
Travel Ziwei must be good, or desire cannot charge
Ziwei with the six auspicious stars coming to court: going out has presence and help, Tanlang’s strong desire can charge. Ziwei as lonely monarch: rapport is poor, desire is weak; then Hua Ji, meeting void stars and Huagai, easily fears competition and retreats at the first touch.
Wu Mu Huo Tong Ming; Zi becomes Fan Shui Tao Hua
Wu wood generating fire: heroic talent, able to hold authority, lighter peach blossom, heavier material desire. Zi water floats the wood, called Fan Shui Tao Hua: solemn on the surface, privately still easily lost in wine, sex, and money.
Opposite is Ziwei: desire is pushed to the extreme
The emperor star facing: people, affairs, and things are all wanted at the top. Desire is momentum; too much and too little are both illness. If no one reels it in, it becomes a person of no use—only harmonize, do not add fuel.
Study points: Tanlang in Zi/Wu in the Life Palace
- Sanfang must not meet Dikong and Dijie. The star sits prosperous, talent is enough; if Life, opposite, Wealth, and Career do not meet Dikong and Dijie, career more easily succeeds and money can be kept; once they arrive, scattering comes easily.
- Wu Ma Tou Dai Jian favors martial posts. Bing and Wu years Qingyang sitting together, Mu Huo Tong Ming stacked further, called Ma Tou Dai Jian: heroic talent is enough, suited to military, police, and martial posts—drive can be used; go toward martial posts or the front line.
- Desire should only be harmonized, not strengthened further. Zi/Wu is already at the top. Wu and Ji years Hua Quan and Hua Lu add fuel; do not stack Jiangxing, Diwang and such miscellaneous stars. Deep desire meeting strong luck easily reverses at the extreme; weak desire instead likes strong luck.
- Likes Huoxing and Lingxing, forming Huo-Tan or Ling-Tan. Huoxing and Lingxing coming to meet: life will have a window of outburst. Opportunity comes fast and must be held; when it comes fast, do not ruin the base. After the outburst, know how to gather, or the results cannot be kept.
- Does not like Wenchang and Wenqu sitting together. Opposite imperial seat already makes the person aim high, more void than substance. Stacking Changqu again, showiness is heavier, career harder to land, name easily larger than fact—looks bright, cannot be planted.
- Zi stacking Qingyang again becomes Fan Shui Tao Hua. Water has already floated the wood; stacking Qingyang, emotional trouble is obvious. Hua Ji, or meeting Tianxing, void stars, and Huagai, can instead correct peach-blossom habits; the person can be reined in, private life cleaner.
Teacher Ming's reading: how to read Tanlang in Zi/Wu
To wrap this up. Tanlang in Zi/Wu: desire is pushed to the top by the imperial seat. Travel Ziwei must be good, or desire cannot charge; Ziwei as lonely monarch, the person turns timid. Huoxing and Lingxing are favored to form Huo-Tan and Ling-Tan; does not like Changqu sitting together. Sanfang must not meet Dikong and Dijie.
I think three lines are enough for students to remember. First, desire should only be harmonized; do not stack more. Second, opposite Ziwei with help is what can charge. Third, outburst comes fast; holding it is what counts.
