Wei palace can refine drive; money must be saved slowly
Lianzhen and Qisha in Chou/Wei Life Palace: a Career star carrying a General star. Opposite is Tianfu, the Wealth Palace is Ziwei and Tanlang, and the Career Palace is Wuqu and Pojun. Qisha sits bright, so the whole group is led by it. Lianzhen belongs to yin fire, Qisha to yin metal; fire comes to refine metal, and only then does drive come out. For this group to form 雄宿乾元格 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan pattern), Lu must be present so hardness can be held. Wei palace is better than Chou: Wei earth still holds fire qi and refines more readily. Wei palace meeting Wenchang and Wenqu plus Hua Lu, without Qingyang, Tuoluo, Huoxing, Lingxing, Dikong, or Dijie rushing in, is both civil and martial—called 廉貞文武格 (Lianzhen Wen Wu pattern). Both stars are fighting generals, suited to public office or a large company. These are people who accumulate wealth; money must be saved slowly. Meeting malefics and Hua Ji, the native is both hard and charging, easily becoming 路上埋屍格 (Buried by the Roadside pattern); the path is very hard to walk.

Life Palace Lianzhen Hua Lu; Tiankui and Tianyue guard Life and Travel, called 坐貴向貴 (sitting noble, facing noble)—people pull the native in and out. Wealth Palace Tanlang Hua Lu: earning runs more smoothly. Tiankui and Tianyue guard Life and Travel; noblemen are more available in and out. Lucun in Si guards the Spouse and Career line; the native is more stable, suited to saving money slowly.
Teacher Ming's reading: Lianzhen and Qisha in Chou/Wei Life Palace
Do not treat 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan) as stable just because a pattern is named. I read Lianzhen and Qisha as fire refining metal: Lu must be present so hardness can be held. Fire comes to refine metal, and only then does drive come out. Both are fighting generals, suited to public office or a large company; money must be saved slowly. Without auspicious stars and then meeting malefics, the path is very hard to walk, easily becoming 路上埋屍 (buried by the roadside).
Jia and Wu years share much the same point—Lu and noblemen are what hold the hardness. If your year is not listed, do not worry—first understand this star group's temperament.
Lianzhen and Qisha in Chou versus Wei
Wei palace is better than Chou; it refines more readily
Wei-palace earth still holds fire qi, which can help Lianzhen refine Qisha, so 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan) is easier to form. Qisha in temple (bright/strong) means the star sits bright: both wit and courage, and also calculation. Opposite is Tianfu: the surface is decisive, the heart still hesitates; this fire is needed before drive can be refined out.
Either 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan), or 路上埋屍 (buried by the roadside)
Classic texts say Lianzhen meeting Qisha turns to arms. The native is cold, hard, and self-regarding, with large ambition and enough charge; good and bad differ greatly. With Wenchang/Wenqu or Hua Lu, the native thinks first then acts. Meeting malefics without auspicious stars: hard and reckless, becoming 路上埋屍 (buried by the roadside).
Fire refines metal; only then does Qisha’s ability come out
Lianzhen is yin fire, Qisha yin metal. Fire comes to refine metal: the two stars press each other and also use each other, and killing qi becomes real ability. Lu must be present so hardness can be held; only then is it called 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan). Wei palace meeting Wenchang/Wenqu and Hua Lu again is both civil and martial.
Learning points: Lianzhen and Qisha in Chou/Wei Life Palace
- Opposite Tianfu meeting malefics empties the treasury: opposite Travel is Tianfu sitting alone; Tianfu is the star that manages the store. A treasury meeting malefics is called 空庫 (empty treasury): the native is harder and more reckless, with less caution. Pioneering easily turns into harm, and twists worsen.
- Huoxing, Lingxing, Qingyang, Tuoluo, Dikong, and Dijie arriving make the path very hard: Huoxing and Lingxing arriving: idle on the surface, urgent inside, conflict easy to start. Dikong and Dijie arriving: work and money both sway. Qingyang or Tuoluo guarding Life or Travel: even more bravado, easily becoming 路上埋屍 (buried by the roadside). Major luck and annual cycles then meeting Lianzhen Hua Ji: guard against traffic accidents and lawsuits.
- Suited to public office, not to forcing a start alone: Qisha is the commander, Lianzhen governs rank. Suited to public office, politics, or a large company. The native can take charge alone, yet is too hard, with large swings of success and failure, unfavourable for money. Most such people start from a blank page; money must be saved slowly. Forcing a start alone is not advisable.
- Sun and Moon clamping Tianfu: leaving home is suitable: Travel Palace Tianfu sits alone, with Taiyang and Taiyin clamping left and right. This combination makes helpers and noblemen easier to meet away from home. With auspicious stars, leaving the hometown to develop is suitable; the field opens more readily.
- Wenchang and Wenqu: able to plan and decide; peach blossom also increases: with Wenchang and Wenqu, the native understands rites and music, can plan and decide. Without malefics, Dikong, or Dijie, this is 廉貞文武格 (Lianzhen Wen Wu pattern), suited to being a strategist. Lianzhen itself carries peach blossom; stack literary stars and feelings run even less smoothly, lifespan is more drained, and the native easily drifts.
Teacher Ming's reading: how to read Lianzhen and Qisha in Chou/Wei
To close this article: Lianzhen and Qisha is either 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan) or 路上埋屍 (buried by the roadside). Suited to public office; money must be saved slowly; forcing a start alone is not advisable. Opposite Tianfu meeting malefics empties the treasury. Leaving home makes helpers easier to meet.
Three points are enough to remember. First, only with Lu can it be refined and held. Second, money must be saved slowly. Third, fail to refine a general, and it is easy to break on the road.
