Sitting alone in temple; only with Lu does the mind stay on work
Lianzhen in Yin/Shen Life Palace: one star sitting Life Palace alone. Opposite is Tanlang, the Wealth Palace is Ziwei and Tianxiang, and the Career Palace is Wuqu and Tianfu. Lianzhen is both a Prison star and a Killing star, also called the political star, with strong ambition for power. Among the twelve palaces only Yin/Shen has it sitting alone, so the nature is simpler. Both palaces are in temple (bright/strong); the star sits bright, so the native is more rational and also has ambition. Meeting Lucun, spirit concentrates on career, called 廉貞清白格 (Lianzhen Qing Bai integrity pattern). Shen palace meeting auspicious stars without malefics can form 雄宿乾元格 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan pattern). The three directions have Ziwei–Tianxiang and Wuqu–Tianfu facing toward Life, called 紫府朝垣 (Ziwei and Tianfu facing the wall) and 府相朝垣 (Tianfu and Tianxiang facing the wall): honour through people is easier, and food and clothing are more stable. Opposite Tanlang carries peach blossom—feeling and charm; once in temple, it can turn into art or connections.

Teacher Ming's reading: Lianzhen in Yin/Shen Life Palace
Do not treat Lianzhen sitting alone as a power star that already holds power. I read Yin/Shen in temple as a simpler nature: only with Lu does the mind stay on work, called the Qing Bai pattern. The three directions have Ziwei–Tianxiang and Wuqu–Tianfu facing toward Life; honour through people is easier. Opposite Tanlang carries peach blossom, which can turn into art or connections. Whether honour comes still depends on whether someone pulls.
Jia, Wu, Ji, and Geng years share much the same point—Lu is what draws spirit back to career. If your year is not listed, do not worry—first understand this star group's temperament.
Lianzhen in Yin versus Shen
Peach blossom can turn into art and connections
Opposite Tanlang also carries peach blossom. Once in temple the native is more bold; desire can turn into art or connections. Career Palace Wuqu and Tianfu are both wealth stars and both sit bright: Wuqu will charge, Tianfu will calculate; with helper stars, holding authority is more possible.
Meeting Lu forms Qing Bai; Shen palace can form 雄宿乾元 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan)
Both palaces in temple: yang-hard strengths show readily, and the native has more ambition. Meeting Lucun, spirit is placed on career, called 廉貞清白格 (Lianzhen Qing Bai integrity pattern). Shen palace meeting auspicious stars without malefics is 雄宿乾元格 (Xiong Su Qian Yuan pattern). The three directions with Zi-Fu and Fu-Xiang facing the wall: a superior pulling the native up is easier.
Only sitting alone is simple; true colour can come out
Lianzhen belongs to yin fire, also carrying wood and earth, so it changes much: in a yin-soft phase, heavy on feeling; in a yang-hard phase, keen on power—hence the political star. Among the twelve palaces only Yin/Shen has it sitting as one star alone, not pulled by another main star, so strengths can come out.
Learning points: Lianzhen in Yin/Shen Life Palace
- Only with Lu does the mind stay on work; administration, finance, or commerce are viable: with Lucun or Hua Lu, spirit is placed on career, called 廉貞清白格 (Lianzhen Qing Bai integrity pattern). Administration, finance, and commerce can all be walked. Opposite Tanlang carries an artistic air, also suited to literature and aesthetics. The native is decisive yet flexible, with more courage to innovate.
- Annual cycles fear Tianxing, Hua Ji, and malefics meeting: major-luck and annual meeting auspicious stars: money luck opens, career can expand, and affinity with the other sex is also strong. Most feared is Tianxing and Hua Ji in the same palace: pus-and-blood disaster is easy. Qingyang, Tuoluo, Huoxing, Lingxing, Tianxing, and Hua Ji arriving together: many disputes; also guard against lawsuits and prison.
- Lu plus the six auspicious stars: authority sits more solidly: Lu plus Zuofu/Youbi, Wenchang/Wenqu, and Tiankui/Tianyue: more able to hold authority; money and status are more stable. Auspicious and malefic mixed: money is mostly turnover, suited to public office or a large firm—do not use it to gamble hard.
- Wenchang/Wenqu form the Wen Wu pattern; peach blossom is also too heavy: with Wenchang and Wenqu there is talent and easy appreciation, called 廉貞文武格 (Lianzhen Wen Wu pattern). Opposite Tanlang already carries peach blossom; stack literary stars and emotional storms increase, clash injuries increase, and lifespan is more drained.
- Dislikes Huoxing, Lingxing, Dikong, and Dijie: Huoxing and Lingxing sharing the palace: the native becomes oversensitive, greedy for wine and romance, or self-infatuated; at worst, speculative and clinging to power. Dikong and Dijie in Life or Travel: breakage is certain; both spirit and matter are trapped. A specialised craft is suitable.
Teacher Ming's reading: how to read Lianzhen in Yin/Shen
To close this article: Lianzhen sitting alone in Yin/Shen, meeting Lu forms Qing Bai. Opposite Tanlang peach blossom can turn into art and connections. Wenchang/Wenqu form Wen Wu, yet also fear emotional storms; Huoxing, Lingxing, Dikong, and Dijie are disliked.
Three points are enough to remember. First, only with Lu is there Qing Bai. Second, peach blossom must turn into connections, not be dragged into love-debt. Third, without Lu, the native sways between power and feeling.
